Nominal exchange rate

Together with the inflation and the rate of interest the rate of cabio is one of the prices mas important that the economists study, the nominal exchange rate measures the price of a foreign currency in terms of the domestic currency; the percentage change of the price of the currency knows as devaluation ó depreciation, when it is negative (the currency of a country reduces his value in comparison with other foreign coins), and revaluation ó appraisal, when it is positive (a currency of a country increases his value in comparison with other foreign coins).

The T.R.M. (Representative rate of the market) is calculated in Colombia by the financial superintendence and is calculated by base in the purchase and sale of currencies realized by the financial intermediaries, this rate is calculated every day by the information of the negotiations of the currencies that are realized in the day. I believe that the exchange rate performs great importance for the investment in the country and out of the country, it is for this that sudden variaciones in the value of a currency with regard to other one can affect sharply the imports and exports, in case of the exchange rate there is important the intervention of the bank of the republic in certain occasions since it can devaluate or revalue the currency depending the measures that this one takes.
